If the rifle will extract fired rounds but not live rounds, then the issue is how smooth the throat is. Many BRRF gunsmiths have developed their own methods for smoothing the throat post machining operations. CF throats will smooth up on their own during the "break in" process which becomes unnecessary if the throat is properly finished. Krieger barrels first stated this many years ago and I believe they were correct. RFs don't have the heat, pressure, and jacket to accomplish this finishing process. The reamer or single point cutting will leave radial rings in the throat. They may look smooth as machined but if they are smoothed, they will show up until completely removed. These have to be cleaned up on a BR RF chamber prior to first shot through the barrel. Failure to extract a live round with .030 engraving would indicate to me, a very rough throat. A borescope inspection would be in order. A very smooth throat can extract .100+ engraving.
